Why is it important which countries have the fast broadband network?

I think this is a good question. I ran across this hubbling graph the other day that shows the United States, the most powerful country on earth ranks 15 in broadband internet speed. So then I asked myself (here I go again asking myself questions I don't have any idea of the answer)why is it so important to have fast internet anyway. Secondly I wondered if those counties ahead of us were also ahead of us in education.

Turns out the top 5 countries are all ahead of us in education.....hummm....i wonder if there is some correlation?
